Reactions in water as a safe and cheap solvent is a major goal of green chemistry. Actual synthesis of pyrido-dipyrimidine scaffold, named DNA-base hybrids, involves catalysis in hazardous solvents. Here we synthesised pyrido-dipyrimidines by one-pot heterocyclization of thiobarbituric acid, vanillic aldehydes and amines in water. Enamine and vanillidene are key intermediates of the Biginelli-like reaction mechanism. Our synthetic method displays several benefits such as the use of a green medium and various substrates, and yields up to 99%.

A full understanding of changes of the microbiome and metabolome during Napier grass silage in relation to aerobic exposure can improve the nutritional value and extend the aerobic stability of this important feed in tropical and subtropical regions. The round bale silage of Napier grass was prepared with deionized water (control) and screened strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR753 (LR753) and L. buchneri 40788 (LB). Silages were stored at ambient temperature (30-40 degrees C) for 60 days, followed by 2 and 4 days of aerobic exposure. Strains LB and LR753 significantly improved aerobic stability (>84 h vs. 18 h of control) of baled Napier grass silage by inhibiting the growth of Saccharomycetales as for the higher production of acetic acid (P < 0.05). Weissella and Issatchenkia spp. were the dominant bacteria and fungi in 60-day silage, respectively. LC-MS/MS detected a total of 426 metabolites throughout ensiling and aerobic exposure. With the decrease of Weissella spp. and the increase of Acetobacter spp., the metabolites associated with both were mainly odor-related (3-methylbutanoic acid, isoquinoline, and cuminaldehyde) and amines (tryptamine and tyramine) in control silage, while more antimicrobial activity metabolites were found in strains LB and LR753-treated silage (methylbutanoic acid, 1,2-propanediol, and tiglic acid). Screened local strain LR753 showed a promising potential for improving silage fermentation and aerobic stability of Napier grass. The present study indicates that adequately describing the microbiome and metabolome of silages during fermentation and aerobic exposure can improve ensiling practices and the screening of silage inoculants that act synergistically with the natural microbiome of the forage in hot and humid areas. Quinoline-2,4-diones reacted with 2-[bis(methylthio)methylene]malononitrile in DMF/Et3N to produce 3-(methylthio)-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]quinolone-2-carbonitriles and 3-(methylthio)-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]quinolone-2-carboxamides in state of 2-imino-substituted 4-(methylthio)-5,6-dihydro-2H-pyrano[3,2-c]quinolone-3-carbonitriles. The purpose of this study is to define an effective synthesis for spinel-type zinc chromite (ZnCr2O4) nanoparticles by a simple microwave combustion method. The synthesized material was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and from optical properties. A magnetic property for the material was examined through the vibrating sample magnetism. The distribution of the external magnetic lines of force and the self-generated magnetic field of ferromagnetic materials was taken into account in the presence of an external magnetic field. Zinc chromite showed good performances in catalytic oxidation, and the role of particle size and shape is highlighted.

A convenient synthetic approach to polysubstituted dihydrogenated or heteroaromatic 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines derivatives containing at position 5 a 4-methylpyrimidine moiety bearing a cycloamino substituent at position 2 and linked to the triazolopyrimidine bicycle through its position 5 was developed. The approach involves unusual three-component condensations of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazoles, methyl 3-(2-R-4-methylpyrimidin-5-yl)-3-oxopropionates, and a series of C-1 synthons whose synthetic equivalents are a series of aromatic aldehydes, triethyl orthoformate, or DMFDMA were used as of C-1 synthons.

The kinetics of the photoelectrochemical mineralization of p-nitrophenol (PNP) and p-methoxyphenol (PMP) on rutile:anatase TiO2 nanotube electrodes (% rutile: 0, 16, and 20) has been studied. Oxidative photocurrent enhances with the increase of both the electrode potential and the rutile content. Time-resolved photoluminescence measurements reveal that incorporation of rutile into anatase nanotubes has effects on recombination dynamics. From measurements of electrical charge as a function of time under thin-layer conditions under potentiostatic control, it was determined that the oxidation of PNP and PMP follows the apparent Langmuir-Hinshelwood rate law. Chemical oxygen demand measurements confirmed total oxidation. The reaction rate parameters that define the kinetic constant (k) due to the reaction of hydroxyl radicals with adsorbed phenols and the thermodynamic constant (K) due to the adsorption of phenols with the electrode surface have been decoupled. The interaction of PNP with the surface of all TiO2 electrodes is highly favored, K(PNP) > K(PMP), resulting in a surface concentration of PNP considerably higher than that of PMP. The specific rate of the surface reaction for the transformation of phenols also increases, but the trend is inverse, that is, for all electrodes, k(PMP) > k(PNP). Understanding these kinetic tendencies can lead to better transformation of light in redox reactions.

The synthesis of aryl phosphonates via nickel and palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl fluorosulfonates and phosphites is described. The products were obtained in good to excellent yields under mild conditions with broad functional group compatibility, employing either Pd(OAc)(2) and DPEPhos or the readily available NiCl2(dme) and Xantphos as catalytic systems. Noteworthily, the present C(sp(2))-P bond formation method could be applied to the direct conversion of phenols to the corresponding aryl phosphonates in one pot via reaction of phenols with SO2F2 and subsequent palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the photodiode properties of the chalcone substitutedphthalocyanine complex due to the important physical properties of the phthalocyanine and chalcone compounds. For this purpose, in the first step, a heterocyclic chalcone compound (HC) bearing a pyridine and hydroxyl group was obtained from the reaction of 40-hydroxyacetophenone with pyridine-3 aldehyde. In the second step, the chalcone-substituted phthalonitrile compound (HCA) was obtained by interacted 4-nitroftalonitrile with the compound HC in the presence of K2CO3 in DMF in an argon atmosphere. The new chalcone substituted metallo-phthalocyanine (HCA-Co) was synthesized from the reaction of compound HCA with Co (II) acetate according to heating of solid phase method under an inert atmosphere. The structure of HC and HCA-Co were fully characterized by using H-1, and C-13-APT NMR, FTIR, elemental analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy. The HCP-Co thin-film planar heterojunction diode was prepared. The organic layer was deposited onto the p-Si substrate to obtain an Al/p-si/phthalocyanine(HCP-Co)/Al diode. The current (I)voltage (V) characteristics of heterojunction diode was measured under dark and illuminated conditions (20-100 mW/cm(2)) at room temperature. The electrical characteristics of the device were measured. The ideal factor value was found to be 5.20 and according to this value, the diode exhibits non-ideal behavior. The frequency dependence of capacitance and the role of interface states were examined. The results showed that chalcone substituted metallo-phthalocyanine has a photodiode and photocapacitor characteristic.
