To a solution of 3-(lH-indol-3-yl)propanoic acid (1.5 g, 7.9 mmol) in THF (20 mL) was added 1M BH3 in THF (9 mL, 9 mmol) at 0 C. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at 0 C and quenched by addition of MeOH then concentrated in vacuo.
