Application In Synthesis of m-Methoxyphenol. I found the field of Chemistry very interesting. Saw the article Regioselective Intermolecular Sulfur-Oxygen Difunctionalization (Phenoxysulfonylation) of Alkynes: One-Pot Construction of (Z)-beta-Phenoxy Vinylsulfones published in 2019, Reprint Addresses Kumar, A (corresponding author), CSIR Cent Drug Res Inst, Med & Proc Chem Div, Sect 10,Sitapur Rd,POB 173, Lucknow 226031, Uttar Pradesh, India.; Kumar, A (corresponding author), Acad Sci & Innovat Res, New Delhi 110001, India.. The CAS is 150-19-6. Through research, I have a further understanding and discovery of m-Methoxyphenol.

The first regioselective phenoxysulfonylation of alkynes with sodium sulfinate and phenol catalyzed by I-2/base has been uncovered. This metal-free, one-pot alkyne difunctionalization process provides various (Z)-beta-phenoxy vinylsulfones under mild reaction conditions. A variety of terminal as well as internal alkynes and sodium sulfinates and a wide range of phenols/thiophenols and naphthols are viable in this transformation. Green protocol and wide substrate scope are the remarkable characteristics of this multicomponent procedure.

Described herein is a concise total synthesis of (+)-brazilin from readily available 4-bromo-1,2dimethoxybenzene. In this synthetic route, a Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation was employed to introduce the chiral hydroxyl group, and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) catalyzed one-pot intramolecular tandem Prins/Friedel-Crafts reaction was also involved as the key transformation in the construction of the hybrid chromane and indane framework. In this study, poplar wood chips were gasified in sub-and supercritical water as biomass feedstock. Hydrothermal gasification experiments were performed to examine how the reaction temperature and different type of catalysts influence conversion efficiency. The effectiveness of commercially available [alkali catalyst; KOH], naturally available [mineral catalysts; Trona [Na-3(CO3)(HCO3)center dot 2H(2)O], Dolomite [CaMg(CO3)(2)] and Borax [Na2B4O7 center dot 10H(2)O] and laboratory-prepared catalysts [metal-impregnated activated carbons; (Ni/AC) and (Ru/AC)] have been demonstrated so as to shift the product distribution toward more desirable compounds. Gaseous compound yield was increased from 29.7% to 79.3% with respect to increasing temperature while liquid compound yield decreased from 27.6% to 1.1% and solid residue from 38.0% to 15.6%. The highest H-2 (20.1 mol/kg C in poplar) and CH4 (12.7 mol/kg C in poplar) yields were obtained with Ru/AC catalyst. Carboxylic acids and 5-methyl furfural were determined as the main liquid compounds. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

An approach to preparing enynyl-aryl ethers from phenols and phenylacetylenes is described. This method without extra ligands, overcoming the favored Glaser-Hay dimerization of alkyne, features a wide substrate scope (38 examples including endofolliculina and indole) and the merits of high atom and step economy, good regio- and stereoselectivity (Z-isomers major) in moderate to good isolated yields. Mechanistic studies show that the reaction is enabled by distinctive copper/iodide tandem catalysis.

The alpha-lithiobenzyloxy group, easily generated from aryl benzyl ethers by selective alpha-lithiation with t-BuLi at low temperature, behaves as a directed metalation group (DMG) providing a direct access to o-lithiophenyl alpha-lithiobenzyl ethers. This ortho-directing effect is reinforced in substrates bearing an additional methoxy group at the meta position. The generated dianions can be reacted with a selection of electrophiles including carboxylic esters and dihalosilanes or germanes, which afford interesting benzofuran, sila(germa)dihydrobenzofuran, and silachroman derivatives from simple aryl benzyl ethers.

Three highly fluorescent perylene bisimide dyes were synthesized, where aromatic ?-system structures are twisted to different degree by steric hindrance of two or four substitution groups at bay position. Light-emitting colours of these dye solutions can be modulated from green, yellow to red, and their fluorescence quantum yields increase up to approximate 100% with increasing the ?-system twisting, which can be considered for new class of wavelength-tunable dye lasers. ?-Twisted dyes are more sensitive to microenvironment changes. Thus, they are better fluorescence probe and sensory materials than planar dyes. Electrochemical cyclic voltammetry measurements revealed that these dyes are suitable for n-type optoelectrical devices and materials. These dye solids display near infra-red emission at 600?850 nm. Owing to strong ?-? stacking interaction, planar dye solid loses its outstanding optical properties compared to its solution. In contrast, ?-twisted dye solids retain their excellent optical properties including narrow emission bands and relatively high fluorescence quantum yields due to the suppression of ?-? stacking interaction. Exceptional fluorescence polarization phenomena were observed for these ?-twisted dye solids. These optical results revealed that ?-twisted perylene bisimide dyes are more excellent optical materials than planar dyes.

An approach for the calculation of the vaporization enthalpies of aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds at T = 298.15 K with accuracy competitive with experiment was proposed. The vaporization enthalpies may be calculated from the solution enthalpies of liquid and solvation enthalpies in benzene. The solution enthalpies of liquids were shown to be constant within a given type of aromatic compounds. For a set of 67 liquid and 41 solid aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds not capable of intermolecular hydrogen bonding, it was experimentally demonstrated that the solution enthalpies of liquids or supercooled liquids in benzene were equal to 1 +/- 1 kJ . mol(-1). The way to consider intermolecular hydrogen bonding, e.g., in phenol, aniline, pyrrole derivatives, was also proposed. The methods for solvation enthalpy calculation were proposed previously. The calculated and literature vaporization enthalpies values of 415 aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds were compared. Average absolute deviation amounted to 1.3 kJ . mol(-1). The proposed approach is especially valuable for calculation of the vaporization enthalpies of low-volatile compounds, including those solid at T = 298.15 K. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. The first palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of aryl/heteroaryl and alkenyl mesylates and tosylates with aryl titanium as the multi-functional reagent is reported. Using the catalyst system of Pd(OAc)(2) associated with the new NMe2-CM-Phos (L14), a broad range of electron-rich, electron-neutral, electron-deficient, and sterically hindered aryl/heteroaryl and alkenyl mesylates and tosylates are well coupled with aryl titanium reagents to give the corresponding products in good to excellent yields. The catalyst loading down to 0.2 mol% Pd and the reaction time shortening to 10 min can be achieved. The reaction can be easily scaled up to the gram scale without diminishing the product yield.
