Novel arginine-functionalized starch-based nanoparticles (Arg-SNPs) were synthesized and characterized by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermos-gravimetric analyses (TGA) techniques. Arg-SNP was used as a highly efficient and macromolecule-supported recyclable nanocatalyst for the one-pot reaction between thiourea and iodine with various substituted methylcarbonyls to afford the corresponding diheteroaryl thioethers in high-to-quantitative yields. Block copolyethers are also prepared by PPO chain extension experiments. All (co)polyethers have been thoroughly characterized by H-1 NMR spectroscopy, SEC and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry as means to elucidate the reaction mechanisms involved in this chemistry. The significant stability of magnetic core and – OH functional groups on the surface of silica-coated cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4@SiO2) nanoparticles make it a good candidate for functionalization and catalytic application. In this work, a surface-modified magnetic solid support with Cu(II) complex was prepared. The structure of the new nanostructure was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), the electron-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP/OES) techniques. The catalytic activity of the prepared hybrid nanomaterial was evaluated in the synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones and high yields of desired products were obtained with green media. Some advantages of this method are high yields, short reaction times, green solvent and conditions, easy workup procedure, negligible copper leaching, reusability without a significant diminish in catalytic efficiency and simple separation of nanocatalyst by using an external magnet alongside the environmental compatibility and sustainability.

A new method for the fast synthesis of diverse 4-aryl-6-cycloamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-amines was developed. The synthesis is performed under microwave irradiation in a one-pot manner from cyanoguanidine, aromatic aldehydes, and cyclic amines. Their three-component reaction in the presence of hydrochloric acid produced dihydrotriazines, which were then converted (without isolation) into the targeted compounds via aromatic dehydrogenation in the presence of alkali. The reaction tolerated various aromatic aldehydes (including heterocyclic) and cyclic amities. Crystal structures of two representative 4-aryl-6-morpholino-1,3,5-triazin-2-amines were established by X-ray crystallography. The results of preliminary biological screening identified potent antileukemic activity for 6-[3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-2(1H)-yl]-4- phenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-amine.

Experimental high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP) density of three solvents including dimethyl sulfoxide, benzyl alcohol, and isoamyl acetate was measured at temperatures of 293.15-473.15 K and pressures up to 35-37.5 MPa. The density was measured with an Anton Paar density meter (DMA HP) at 20 K and 2.S MPa intervals. The calibration fluids were water and benzene. The combined expanded uncertainty of density taking into account the device specification and the impurities of the materials was 1 kgm-3 (0.95 level of confidence). The experimental density data were correlated with the Tait and new modified Tait equations. The thermal expansion coefficient (ay) and isothermal compressibility (KT) were calculated with the new modified Tait equations. Moreover, the perturbed -chain statistical associating fluid theory (PC-SAFT) equation of state was used to model the density data at HTHP. In most cases, the PC-SAFT parameters are obtained from saturated vapor pressure and liquid phase density; however, these parameters were calculated from the density at HTHP in the present study. Regarding these parameters, thermodynamic properties such as the thermal expansion coefficient (cry), isothermal compressibility (KT), isobaric heat capacity (Cp), and speed of sound (u) were calculated. Acceptable agreement between the results with experimental data demonstrated the accuracy of modeling with the obtained parameters.

Aim: Mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor (c-Met)/ HGF overactivation is involved in diverse human cancers. A series of novel pteridinone derivatives possessing a hydrazone moiety were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their biological activity. Most of the synthesized compounds demonstrated moderate to excellent activity against A549, HCT116 and PC-3 cancer cell lines. In particular, compound L-19 exhibited the most potent antiproliferative effects on three cell lines with IC50 values of 3.23 mu M, 4.36 mu M and 8.20 mu M, respectively. Dielectric materials play a crucial role in 5G communication technological applications such as printed circuit board (PCB) high-frequency substrate materials. Unfortunately, the fabrication of desirable dielectric performance in organic-inorganic composites is a great challenge because of lack of good interfacial compatibility and uniform dispersion between fillers and polymer. In this work, silicon dioxide (SiO2) was synchronously functionalized by gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS, s-SiO2) and 1,2-polybutadiene (PB, v-SiO2), which were then used as fillers to fabricate the s-SiO2/polyolefin or v-SiO2/polyolefin laminates. All the v-SiO2/polyolefin laminates exhibited better dielectric, thermal and mechanical properties than those of s-SiO2/polyolefin laminates under the same filler content. Specially, the 50 wt% v-SiO2/polyolefin laminate displays a low dielectric constant (3.42) and loss (3.55 x 10-3) at 10 GHz. Meanwhile, it also shows good stability of dielectric properties in a wide range of high-frequency. This work is conducive to develop laminates with superior dielectric properties and apply to PCB high-frequency substrate field.

Aromatic voltage stabilizers can improve the dielectric properties of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE); however, their poor compatibility with XLPE hinders their practical application. Improving the compatibility of aromatic voltage stabilizers with XLPE has, therefore, become a new research goal. Herein 1-(4-vinyloxy)phenylethenone (VPE) was prepared and characterized. It can be grafted onto polyethylene molecules during the cross-linking processes to promote stability of the aromatic voltage stabilizers in XLPE. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that VPE was successfully grafted onto XLPE, and effectively inhibited thermal migration. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the grafted VPE/XLPE composite exhibits a better thermal stability than a VPE/PE blend composite. Evaluation of the electrical properties showed that the breakdown strength and electrical tree initiation voltage of the VPE/XLPE composite were increased by 15.5% and 39.6%, respectively, when compared to those of bare XLPE. After thermal aging, the breakdown strength and electrical tree initiation voltage of the VPE/XLPE composite were increased by 9.4% and 25.8%, respectively, in comparison to those of bare XLPE, which indicates that the grafted voltage stabilizer can effectively inhibit its migration and enhance the stability of the composite material.
